For me, this piece serves as a visual representation of a half-remembered dream or a fading emotion. I used a mottled field of jewel-toned shadows and overcast highlights to draw the eye across the wide canvas. By heavily weathering the surface texture, I aimed to give the painting a timeworn quality, suggesting a personal history hidden just beneath the surface.
